We always say this word "CAR" But have we thought from where did this word come from?
CAR first came as Carre from french and from earlier from latin Carrus. It meant a cart , chariot, carriage. It came at around 19th Century but it was not widely available till 20th Century.
It was built or designed for four to eight people mainly to transport people but not the goods.
The first car which came to market was on 1908 Model T which was available to the masses and was brought to the market by the company called FORD.
This 1908 Model T is also known with many name like T or Model T and many more. It was regarded as the first affordable car to the Middle - class Americans.
Features In "T"
It has a front mounted of 177-cubic-inch (2.9 L) with a four cylinder engine, which produces 20 Hp with a top speed of 64 to 72 Kmph. Ford made in such a manner that it could run in kerosene, gasoline or ethanol which I think if it would be now then it would have blasted the whole car market. T was a rear - wheel drive vehicle whose transmission was three speed. The amazing thing was the three speed means including reverse which is now called a Two speed. Do you know the Model T was controlled by 3 foot pedals. I think in todays kind of traffic driving this car is a big deal.but thanks to ford to bring the first 4 wheel car.
Hope you guys enjoyed reading it.
